there is a region file in each folder that should be replaced. in prev and playlist these are rgn.bin. only in the menu folder being that there are more of these, they are called MenuAmprgn.bin, MenuMultirgn.bin etc... now these files are the same format as those bin files in your skin parts, called window_name.bin. So to replace these you load the desired picture in the skin designer, trace it and when you are satisfied you can replace the.bin file of for instance, the playlist with the resulting .bin file. some limitations are that you can not change any of the layouts in these windows so you have to be carefull not to loose any of the important buttons or text boxes. also note that the top-left co-ordinate is fixed. It is easiest to work with the original images as starting points, so that you can see where are the buttons and everything. the image however can be as big as you wish, for some examples look at Archons vis-collection which demonstrates this quite nicely. Another skin showing these features is mine "Queen" skin. and that's it I guess... if it's unclear ask ...

Re: How to make custom shapes for dap built in parts.
Thanks Donny.
Sounds simple enough. The menues can get pretty tricky when modifying them. It doesn't take much to get them out of whack. You and Archon did an excellent job on both of these skins. I really liked your expanded Playlist & PrevPlayed drop downs. Thanks for sharing. -Craze |
