cost per track?
and it will be on another website specifically for selling and trading music like another auctions site but music related only. my initial dilemma is the pricing structure. currently i am selling a full album with about 50 - Min's play time for AUD$5.00 and approx under 12meg WMA. so i was thinking $1.35 per track with approx 10 - 16 Min's length. with paypal you loose 0.30 + 2.4% per transaction. and less any other costs. what i don't know is if 15 Min's is too long for a single track. i mean for pop or rock you only get your 3 - 6 Min's. because i work on this closely with the music artist we will be producing "chill out" music as well and some more upbeat tracks. i think the upbeat tracks are ok for 3 - 6 Min's though. the thing is i don't really want to compare too much with what the latest pop chart artists gets which is around the $1.69 per track for justin timberlake and about $16.99 for a nelly furtado album. i have some low quality samples here but still sound pretty good http://www.christopherbuckman.com/download.htm now i know not everyone here will be into this style of music so it might be harder to comment. as far as i know there is no other auction style music sites? initially it will be focused on this style and be sold on **** and my auction sites and other auction sites too. this is to help raise funds for the initial launch of the music auction site. the ultimate goal is eventually 50% goes back to the artist and 50% goes towards my company "Aussie Community" to raise funds for medical aids and supplies. and of course if the music auction site is successful it will provide a good platform for new artists and no label artists to get their music out their. any thoughts out there on this?

Re: cost per track?
well after such a HUGE response here with discussions going off the table! i have decided on $9.00 per album after finding a similar site that makes digital albums available for download by independent music artists. actually they charge USD$9.99 per album. mine will be AUD$9.00 per album.
I will be adding single tracks as well but probably at AUD$2.85 per track. because i have thousands of tracks and albums to upload all centered around relaxation and chill out genre it will be quit time consuming uploading and setting it all up right. however i am confident it will be a success

Re: cost per track?
Hi, after a year has gone by we still don't have digital upload available on our sution site yet www.bid-alot.com
the reasons has been due to the developer not being able to implement this for us until now. We actually expect to have digital upload/download capability before Christmas.
